CARE GUIDE
How to Care for your Far & Away pieces so they stay in the family for generations.
Ceramics Care
Our ceramics are crafted to endure rigorous, regular use, providing you with peace of mind. They're freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe up to 230C/450F.
TIPS:
• Do not overfill the dishwasher and leave some space to avoid chipping.
• All semi-matte glazes are sensitive to temporary metal markings - avoid contact with abrasive metal dish sponges and lower grade cutlery.
• If you do find grey metal markings on your pieces, scrub with an abrasive non-metal sponge and a paste made using water, lemon, and baking soda. A scourging powder such as "Bar Keeper's Friends" works as well.
Cutlery Care
Our cutlery is crafted from resilient 18/10 European stainless steel, designed to resist rust and corrosion. It is suitable for dishwasher use, but extra care is needed for the knives as these are made to prioritize edge retention over corrosion resistance.
TIPS:
• Avoid acidic detergents and use less dishwashing salt.
• Do not wash with items that are rusting.
• Avoid direct contact with other pieces when in dishwasher.
• Dry immediate - do not leave in prolonged contact with moisture.
• Consider hand washing knives or bare minimum a pre-rinse prior to dishwasher use
• Consider hand washing non-silver finishes made via PVD coating. There is a 500 dishwashing cycle guarantee.
Cork Care
Cork is a naturally anti-bacterial and insulating material making it easy to care for and clean. Simply wipe away any debris with a dry cloth and leave to air dry after each use. You may use a damp (not wet) cloth and a small amount of mild dish soap for tougher cleans.
TIPS:
• Cork is sensitive to moisture so do not leave in the dishwasher or submerge in water.
• Avoid storing in humid conditions to prevent shape changes.
