If you're anything like me, you love a cozy night in with your loved ones. You spend hours searching your favourite recipe online and channeling your inner Michelin starred chef. As your guests show up at your door with a bottle of wine, you quickly put the final touches onto your culinary masterpiece.
Everything goes according to plan until you're plating your food. You hesitate, seeing your 3 year old IKEA plates are so chipped and scratched that they are barely hanging on to their last breath of life. How embarrassing.
After seeing this minimalistic dinnerware brand called Far & Away featured on Refinery29, GQ, Glamour, and more, I took the plunge. I have to say, my guests and I are absolutely obsessed with them. If the praise of the biggest lifestyle magazines weren't enough, here are my top 5 reasons why I can't live without my new favourite dinnerware set.
1. Stunning Minimalistic Design
To say these pieces are pretty is an understatement. The number of compliments I get from my guests are overwhelming. I love the modern lips on the plates and how they perfectly stack on my kitchen shelfs. Personally, I love the Ivory glaze as it compliments whats on the plate without taking too much attention away. Choosing more than 1 colour is also an option as the palette mixes super well together.
2. Chip & Scratch Resistant
Right out of the box, I could feel these pieces were high quality in my hands. They felt quite a bit heavier than my old IKEA plates so that's something to keep in mind. After months of abuse and a few instances of excessive force, my Far & Away pieces have come out completely unscathed and in one piece. No chips or cutlery marks at all. This is especially impressive as mine are off-white and my old plates were full of markings from the get go.
